The Instant Impact Program for my campaign focuses on providing immediate relief for people in the district facing economic hardships.
Covid-19 has caused dramatic and disturbing levels of food insecurity and unemployment. These are issues that many in my district can't face without a little assistance. Hunger relief organizations were already being stretched thin with more than 1 in 4 kids in the district food insecure, as of 2018. When Congress failed to act to extend Unemployment Benefits and increase money for food insecurity, I had to act. So, I started writing checks to hunger relief organizations, and my campaign will continue to use its resources to help people. Too often, politicians only tell you what they are going to do. We don't have time for rhetoric and empty promises. The time to act is NOW. Our citizens can't wait. Children are going hungry and I won't let that happen. |
In the 2018 Midterms, more than $2 Billion was spent on paid media. Imagine how much of an Instant Impact a fraction of that amount could have had?

While our Instant Impact Program is not limited to hunger relief, we thought it was one of the most expedient ways to address needs in the district. We will also be making contributions to Veterans' Nonprofits in the district.
As you can see from the graph below, 1 in 5 Children on average - more in some places - don't know where their next meal is coming from. These stats are from 2018, 2 years Pre Covid. These already high numbers have ballooned with spikes in unemployment and a dramatic reduction in household income. We can help simply by supporting hunger relief organizations in the district.
Good Governance
All too often, our elected officials are beholden to their campaign donors. A current example of this is my opponent's allegiance to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. Rather than hold DeJoy accountable for slowing down delivery of essential things like medicine for our Veterans and checks for our elderly, Ted Budd decided that the whole ordeal is a hoax. Postmaster DeJoy just so happened to have donated more than $33,000 to Ted Budd's campaigns. This is what we call a Legislative Kickback. Instead of governing for you, the people, Ted Budd governs for himself and his donors. We suffer. If you don't have enough money to donate large sums to people like Ted Budd, government won't work for you.
I believe in being accountable to my donors, the people. Everyone. The people donating to my campaign are not corporate PACs or big business. They want me to help them, legislatively. So, if you donate to me, know that I'm taking action now to help people in my district who need. That's the nature of Instant Impact.
